Heartsaver CPR and Heartsaver AED
Heartsaver CPR teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for adult, child and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children. Intended Audience: lay rescuers, such as employees in the workplace, day care employees, baby-sitters, firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers, and those who may have a need to respond to an emergency. Participants receive a course completion card valid for two years. Heartsaver AED includes all of the above plus training in use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
- All Ages, No AED: This course teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in the adult, infant and child. Cost includes $9 book. Approximately 3 hours, $45/person*
- All Ages, With AED: This course teaches CPR, relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in the adult, infant and child, and training in use of AED in children and adults. Cost includes $12.50 book; Approximately 3 1/2 hours; $50.
- Adult/Child, No AED: This course teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for the adult and children over the age of one; Approximately 2 hours; $37.50.*
- Adult/Child, with AED: This course teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for the adult and children over the age of one, and training in the use of AED. Cost includes $12.50 book; Approximately 2 1/2 hours; $40.00.
CPR for Family & Friends
- All ages: This course teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction in the adult, infant and child. Approximately 3-3 ½ hours - $18.00*
- Adult/child only: This course teaches CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction for the adult and children over the age of eight. Approximately 2 ½ hours - $13.50*
Heartsaver First Aid
The Heartsaver First Aid Course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult illness & injury emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. The course also provides a complete health and safety training solution for first aid, adult CPR and AED. Intended Audience: persons assigned to respond to emergencies in the workplace or community as well as those who want to learn first aid, CPR and AED skills. Some rescuers are required to take this course as part of their employer’s efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, e.g., corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel, lifeguards & other individuals who want or need first aid training. Pediatric module appropriate for daycare providers available. Participants receive a course completion card valid for two years.- First Aid only: General principles, medical, injury, and environmental emergencies; approximately 3 ½ hours - $40.00*
- Adult First Aid, CPR & AED: General principles, medical, injury, and environmental emergencies, Adult/child CPR & AED; Approximately 6.5 hours - $65.00*
- Daycare providers: General principles, medical emergencies (including asthma), injury emergencies and environmental emergencies in infants and children, Adult/Child CPR & AED and infant CPR module – Approximately 8-8 ½ hours - $70*

The CPR for Family and Friends Course is modular and teaches rescuers skills in CPR and relief of choking (foreign-body airway obstruction). It presents information about the American Heart Association adult Chain of Survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults. The course also presents information on the infant and child Chain of Survival, signs of choking in infants and children, how to reduce risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), and prevention of the most common fatal injuries in infants and children. Intended Audience: lay rescuers, such as schoolchildren, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, and other laypersons who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. Use of an AED is not taught in this course. Participants receive a course attendance card but are not certified.
