Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac rehabilitation involves a team approach in working with patients with cardiac disease to achieve and maintain optimal physical and psychosocial health.
The Cardiac Rehab Team works closely with patients in a three phase exercise program to improve cardiovascular function. Phase I is when a patient is helped through physical therapy. Phase II provides supervised and EKG monitored progressive exercise training. Phase III moves into more aggressive exercise and maintenance. The goal is to improve the patient’s physical capacity, muscle strength and flexibility, and to provide a supportive environment that encourages lifestyle changes and returns participants to a productive status.
