Emergency Services

Sanford Worthington Medical Center (SWMC) Emergency department is an important part of our facility and community. Although a person hopes to never need to use the Emergency department, we want the community to be assured that we will be here if the need arises.

SWMC's Emergency Department is a Trauma III emergency care department that offers emergency care 24 hours a day regardless of age, race, religion or ability to pay. It is staffed by a licensed physician, registered nurses and other support staff that can respond to all emergency needs. A surgeon and an anesthetist are also on-call 24 hours a day.

The hospital also has a highly trained ambulance staff (EMT's) and a fleet of specially designed emergency vehicles to respond to emergencies in the immediate area.
