Social Services
Sanford Worthington Medical Center employs three professional social workers licensed by the Minnesota Board of Social Work. They are available to assist you and your family in arranging for services during and after hospitalization. They are trained and educated to assess individual needs, provide emotional support, and share valuable information on community resources and programs which may be available to you. Medical social workers provide numerous services for patients and/or their families in a variety of settings:
- Coordination of Interpreter Services
- Crisis counseling
- Death or near-death counseling
- Dialysis unit
- Discharge planning
- Financial advocacy
- Health Care Directives
- Information and referrals
- Social assessments
- Swing beds
